Mine was supposed to get here yesterday but there was a blizzard so it got delayed till today. I checked a couple minutes ago and now it says delivery pending. My brain keeps rattling between the stories of delivery drivers stealing them and “the roads aren’t the best.”. The thing is the facility it’s at is like a 15 minute drive. More people are getting more devices more quickly. I'm not saying it won't happen or that it won't be profitable, but the incentive is going to drop as the prices fall and the scarcity decreases. Risking your job to make a quick $1500 is one thing, but now that the devices are going for $800-900 it's much less enticing.

Steam ships the deck fedex home delivery...those drivers don't actually work for fedex. What they do is bid the routes out and whoever comes in the lowest gets the route. Its hard to notice because they still drive fedex trucks and wear fedex uniforms but if you look on the truck it should have something like JR's trucking or XPV delviery. There might be some sort of serial number, but I don't see how it would be remotely read. The only number that would be unique to OP's individual Steam Deck is MAC address but those are a) not guaranteed to be unique b) easily changed. Steam has no SIM card slot, and therefore no IMEI to ban by.
