2003 gsxr 750 has gas in the oil. I was told that my gsxr 750 has gas in the oil. I was curious what could be causing this. The bike runs like a dream for the most part. When it sits for a few days it is a little hard to start (starts up but dies immediately a few times before starting up and staying running) but after it warms it has no problems.A few years ago I turned my 600 Katana into a dragbike using a '86 gsxr 750. With slick and bars it went 10:01 @ 131. It had Wiseco 771 kit,Lazer level 5 cylinder head,Cam Motion drop-ins,Ape lightened crank,Carillo's,& 38 flat slides. It was dynoed with 40mm Lectrons (mistake).

L01 is NOT 0wt oil. Suzuki/Kayaba L01 oil is 15.60 cSt @ 40 C which is far closer to comparable company's 5wt oil. There's nothing special about it, TONS of sportbikes list a similar oil Suzuki/Kayaba/Yamaha L01 oil by default. You can choose any oil that is close in this chart if you want something that is comparable.

I sort of agree with "if it ain't broke don't fix it" but if there is too little clearance, no oil will get in there (you need at least the specified minimum clearance) and if it's too much, the crank won't float on the bearing and you'll score it.
