So if you're against high level enemies where you need to strip 100% of armor, then you probably want to use Emerald Archon Shards to let Corrosive procs do that. So dilluting them with Viral is significant. Maybe after the Nourish and Eclipse nerfs there'll be a reason to use Xaku's subsume or something.

I was really looking forward to new shard types, but they seem to be way too niche for a majority of frames. For example, emerald shards don't seem to be worth slotting on your frame if they can not inflict toxin or corrosive status effects.
