Primarily, the safety protrudes over the "stepped" pin that is mentioned in the videos that show how to install a flat trigger. I suggest you watch the videos that are available for the non-safety version and you will see there isn't any difference in the procedure. There is no reason to try to remove the safety to replace the trigger.
