During his former years, Eddie was educated in the public schools of Holly Hill, South Carolina. He graduated in 1974 from Roberts High.
It was there, that he decided that funeral service would be on of his life's callings. In 1949, he, his wife Naomi, and his father-in-law, the late Abraham Madison Shuler, formed the Shuler-Marshall Funeral Home in Holly Hill. He later became the sole proprietor of the business.
