I picked up a 2000 VN800 about 2 weeks ago. I've started the bobber conversion. Doesn't looks like a lot has changed but another 2-3 weeks and it should have most of the changes done except paint. So far i've installed new forward controls and lowered the bike 3 inches with the Scootworks kit. 5.

It is very likely the receiver in the hub thats bent from misalignment, this will have to be fixed to make the speedo cable spin. A quick check is to remove the cable from the hub and spin with your fingers while looking for movement on the speedo needle. If it moves, your problem is in the hub. Newbie here. I have a 1999 Vulcan VN800 Classic that sat for a long time that I am putting back on the road. I have just fully rebuilt the carbs and upon putting it all back together and adding gas, it started pouring (I mean pouring like straight through an open hole) out of the breather/vent attached directly to the underside of the tank.
