The cub centers take a 1/2 carriage bolt. The A-140 takes 5/8 carriage for the weights. So if you put the A-140 weight on the cub you are using 1/2 bolts, which probably are ok, but the engineers at IH were more comfortable with 5/8. What I did to combat the difference in carburetor inlet size vs. air intake pipe from the air cleaner was I used the original diameter hose from the H carburetor, and used that as a spacer sleeve on the intake pipe. I then used the larger Super H/M carburetor to pipe hose over that, and it works just fine with two clamps.One of each. It depends on what you want to do. Cultivating corn with an M will kill you.
