Feb 9, 2022 · 2020 Pacifica Start Stop System issue towing to dealership. Yesterday my wife was driving and the Start/Stop Unavailable Service System light came on. Later in the day the light went out and reset itself. This morning my wife was backing out of our driveway and the vehicle shut off by itself in the middle of the road. 2018 Pacifica S auto start/stop issue. Over the last week our van started having issues with auto start at a red light. It said restart required and was off. We had to put in park push the button to restart the van while the light was green and creating a traffic issue. 2 times in a week. Not sure what is going on but I will take to the dealer.I removed the relay in the electrical panel for the Stop/Start System and tested it to make sure it was working properly. When I jumped the correct terminals of the relay with a 9v battery, the relay opened and closed. From what you are saying, it could actually be the starter button itself vs the key fob - or many other points between the Power button, the starter and your battery. I take it your Pacifica is a 2017 model built in 2016, as those are the only (ICE) ones not having ESS (Start/Stop).
