The Instacart batch grabber is an app or extension that enhances a shopper's opportunity to secure more batches daily. It operates in two ways: some batch grabbers send notifications when a batch opportunity arises, while others, based on the shopper's location and availability, automatically accept the batches.Shoppers receive something but certainly not the full amount you pay. Heavy pay goes to drivers when heavy items (8lbs+) in the order add up to at least 49lbs total. The pay is $5 for 49lbs-99lbs, $10 for 100lbs-149lbs, and maxes out at $15 for over 149lbs.The referral bonus for referring a shopper in NJ at that time was $850. I had to complete 50 batches within 30 days in order for her to receive the bonus. Long and pathetic story short, I ran 53 batches between 1/4/21 and 1/31/21. She was also going to refer my other daughter because the bonus had gone up to $1000. I apologized to the customer for not calling as requested and then explained how this scam works. He understood completely. I also suggested he remove his phone number from his delivery instructions since we can call through the app without it, and shoppers might insta-cancel if they think they’re going to have to call outside the app. Possible scam by Instacart shopper.
