What I would do is check the wiring from the coolant sensor all the way back to the main harness. Use a multimeter and verify you have continuity from the connector at the sensor all the way back to the main bail connector that sits above the hardline coolant hose (the one that connects to your thermostat housing).This is a short, simple case study on a crank, no start L5P Duramax with new crate engine. Cranks, no start. I isolated it to the wiring harness, and sure enough there was a spot where a metal bracket had worn through the wiring harness.

The ECM detects that the signal circuit voltage is more than 4.75 volts for more than one second. Action Taken When the DTC Sets. DTCs P0192 and P0193 are Type A DTCs. The ECM commands the engine to operate in the Reduced Engine Power mode. The message center displays Reduced Engine Power.This is also something that is not very common on these Duramax engines but it happens more often than an ECM issue. The most common problem on the Duramax is the EGR. That and head gasket issues. As far as electrical issues, this is really the only other one I know of. ECM issues are not common at all.Everything before the CP3 (high pressure fuel pump) is under vacuum pressure. So, just like a straw with a crack in it will suck air bubbles, your fuel lines with a leak somewhere will suck air. The air bubbles can cause a p0093 or p0087.
